Obama's election isn't going to happen till about a year from now, so I'll share my input on that when it is closer. However, to me, elections are a very bad thing unless the current man in office isn't good. As the election time draws nearer, the current man in office will only focus on getting re-elected, which could ultimately mean not handling the situations that need attention immediately. In other words, the President will only focus on the areas that the public will re-elect him for. This includes areas like reducing poverty, helping the job crisis, or improving high schools. These, of course, are all good things, but there are some greater issues that need to be taken care of that would affect the US more in the long run like alternate energy sources, pollution, wars, and the debt problem.
